The old artist’s village Altea has a charming and traffic-free centre. Its white centre in Moorish style, boasting the Virgin del Consuelo church on the town square with its typical dome in blue and white tiles.
Guadelest, the most beautiful fortifications on the Costa Blanca, dates back to the 11th Century and was built by the Moors behind a village. This village can only be reached by a pedestrian tunnel (45-minute drive through the country with many crop farms).
Villajoyosa is a small fisherman’s village where the various fishermen’s homes have been painted in different colours, in order to recognise them (45-minute drive).
There is also the Pinos mountain (15-minute drive), Valencia (1-hour), Aqualandia water park (20-minute drive), the limestone hills at Penon de Ifach in Calpe, 332 meters high and 1km away from the sea (10-minute drive), the Denia castle (1-hour drive through various harbours), Mundamar water and animal park (20-minute drive), etc.
