Casa Golondrina is an authentic cortijo that is located in a quiet setting in the mountains of Almunecar. It is a delightful country house. The construction style is typically Andalusian. Casa Golondrina has been beautifully refurbished while keeping the genuine character of the house.
Casa Golondrina is located on a private property of 15,000m², in a setting made up of vineyards, olive trees, pineapple trees, fig trees and other such vegetation. Thanks to its altitude of about 380m, the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking.
There are exceptional walks to be made, as well as cultural visits, hot-spots to discover, hikes, as well as enjoying the beaches or lounging around the swimming pool and enjoying the panoramic views of the mountains. The region is magnificent, and the coast is beautiful with distant views of the Sierra Nevada’s snowy mountain tops.
The house is part of Casa Algaborro where the owners sometimes stay, but it is entirely independent with a separate entrance and offering full privacy. The swimming pool is common to both when the owners are there.
It is 9km away from the coast, and it is a 20-minute drive from the house using the boulevard to the Almunecar beach. This makes Casa Golondrina so exceptional, as it enjoys a peaceful location in the heart of a magnificent natural setting, yet it is so close to the beach, the shops the bars and restaurants and yet it is also ideal for enjoying a great deal of walks and cultural excursions. Choose a 4X4 (Four Wheel Drive) and you can even discover incredible sites and views.
Casa Golondrina offers a spacious living room and dining room with a wood-burning stove. The room gives onto a private covered terrace.
The living room comprises a couch that can be easily turned into a spacious and comfortable bed (2p). The dining room gives onto an open, well fitted kitchen (dishwasher, big fridge with a deep-freezer, microwave).
The living room leads to the bedroom (150cm + 90cm). Your suitcases can be put away in a large cupboard. The house also has a spacious bathroom (sink, shower, toilet and washing machine).
Next to the covered terrace there is a smaller open terrace with a bread oven that can also serve as a barbecue. Between Casa Golondrina and Casa Algarrobo, the owners’ house, there is a staircase towards the swimming pool (9x5m). You may make free use of it from April 1st to October. There is a big terrace around the swimming pool as well as an outdoor shower.
This is the perfect villa for those seeking peace and privacy. You can enjoy a good book, a dip in the swimming pool, mealtimes with one another, to the sound of birds singing (“pàjaros”). There are many cultural excursions to be made to Granada, Malaga and even to Ronda, Cordoba, Sevilla and Gibraltar thanks to Andalusia’s exceptional road network. You will find an information pack in the house about excursions, restaurants, cafés, shops and walks.
Casa Golondrina is a holiday home for people seeking adventure combined with luxury, tranquillity, a breathtaking panorama and a well-fitted house for their holiday. The house is rented with special attention to luxury, the beds are made upon arrival, kitchen linen, bath linen and bathrobes are fresh too. During the high season, if the owners are on the premises, tenants may choose between a barbecue and a typical Spanish Zarzuela that guests may have on the terrace while enjoying the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and of the swimming pool. During other periods, an extra room can be rented comprising 4 beds and an office. This is a spacious room which is beautifully done up. This costs an extra charge of 150 euros/week, and allows lodging for 4 extra people.
Important : The road is difficult the last 3 km. You cannot reach the house with a sportscar.
