Les Béguines is a tremendous and authentic mas that appeals to everyone. It was hand-built in the 1700s by the ancestors of same family who still owns it and who evidently looks after the house with the utmost care, keeping its original and authentic character while modernising the amenities. A 3km dirt road leads to the house.
Entering the mas feels like entering a castle. High ceilings with magnificent mouldings, antique doors, and authentic floors send you into another world.
The mas comprises a very well fitted kitchen (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, meat chopping machine, oven, microwave,...). In the kitchen there is a very big fireplace. The living room also has a fireplace with an adjoining reading corner, which also has a fireplace creating a wonderful atmosphere.
In the hall there is a door which leads to the cellar (beautiful and vaulted), where there is a washing machine and another fridge with a freezer. In the hall, there is also a shower space and toilet.
On the first floor, you will find 3 very spacious bedrooms (1x2p., 1x2p.,1x1p.). One bedroom has a big adjoining bathroom with a separate toilet. Child cot. On this floor there is also a small dressing room.
On the second floor there are 2 bedrooms (2x1p, 1x2p). One bedroom has an adjoining bathroom and toilet, and it has a TV. Everything is well tended, clean, and very tasteful. All the rooms have a view of the garden.
The property is immense. Part of it (2000m²) has been fenced and comprises a lovely garden, with a park, and a very big swimming pool on the side (14x7m – up to 1.80m deep).
The garden enjoys a very special atmosphere, not only thanks to the swimming pool but also due to the beautiful trees and vegetation which will remind you of olden times. The large terrace (on the mas’ entire width) is an invitation to rest under the trees. There is a small fountain with a bar for drinks, against the wall on the terrace, which always provides fresh water. Perfect for your Pastis!
