The 7 most beautiful beaches of Ibiza

Ibiza is the most famous island of Spain and is located in the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Ibiza is the ideal destination for relaxation. Besides the most renowned nightclubs in the world, you will also find a true hippie culture where spirituality and yoga are central. Moreover, the island is also known for its beautiful sunsets and beaches. On the southern and western side of Ibiza you will find the most touristic beaches, while in the north and the east you will find more peace and quiet.

A tip: the beaches are scattered along the coast so make sure you have your own transport to discover the most beautiful places, with public transport you can't get everywhere. You can also rent cars or scooters in many places!

Nothing better than a holiday at the beach, especially from the luxury of your own holiday home on Ibiza. We list below which beaches on Ibiza you should definitely enjoy.

1. Cala Bassa

The beach Cala Bassa is a fifteen minute drive west of Sant Antoni. It is a beautiful sandy beach with clear blue water and thanks to the many facilities it is much more accessible to the general public than Aigua Blanques. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, there are showers and changing rooms and there are also walkways, which makes the beach accessible for the disabled. There are also several bars and restaurants. Not far away is the town of Cala Tarida, where there is also a beautiful sandy beach. At Cap there are beautiful holiday homes in Cala Tarida on offer that are definitely worth a look.

2. Cala d'en Serra

Cala d'en Serra is a beautiful rocky bay where you can find a lovely beach. It is located in the north of the island, not far from the seaside resort of Portinatx. The beautiful location was once an inspiration for one of the most renowned Catalan architects to build a large luxury hotel there. However, construction was interrupted towards the end of the 1970s and when the architect Josep Lluís Sert eventually died, it has always remained an unfinished ghost hotel. Although some residents of Ibiza prefer to get rid of the building, many find it a unique sight with a good story that contributes to the cultural heritage of the island.

3. Cala Benirrás

Cala Benirrás is known for its beautiful sunset which is welcomed with drum rolls to make it a special moment. There is snorkeling, there are paddle board excursions available and the atmosphere is very relaxed. At the beach there is a hippie market and nice restaurants and bars. For the authentic Ibiza atmosphere you have to be in Cala Benirrás.

Tip: It is recommended to come here by bus because there are limited parking spaces and it is a fairly popular beach.

4. Cala Xarraca

Also not far from Portinatx, is the small beach Cala Xarraca. It may be only about 100 meters long, but it is a real pearl for divers and snorkelers thanks to its clear blue water. It is easily accessible by car, but it seems to be very isolated. That's why the natural views are really beautiful and you can certainly take some nice holiday pictures. An extra advantage is that on the left side of the beach there is a pool of mud that is said to have a healing effect on the skin.

5. Cala Conta

Cala Conta or Cala Comte is just a fifteen minute drive from San Antoni and is an iconic beach on Ibiza. The crystal blue waters, the pleasant alternation of sandy and rocky beaches and the views of several small islands close to the coast make Cala Conta a popular seaside resort. There are shallow stretches of sea where children can play safely and there are also bars and restaurants nearby. People come here especially to admire the beautiful sunset.

6. Punta de sa Pedrera

Punta de sa Pedrera is a piece of untamed Ibiza. It is a rocky vantage point over the sea where you can take a brisk walk. The leaning beach is also very mysteriously called Atlantis. You'll have to do some scavenger hunt and clambering for it, but then you'll end up at a magical spot with half sunken rocks and clear blue water that forms small pools in the grooves. Unfortunately there is no real magic, but there used to be a quarry here on the coast.

 7. Cala Vadella

Cala Vadella is a beautiful and rustic seaside resort that sums up the Mediterranean style. Boats float in the water, delicious restaurants and a lovely sandy beach where you can watch the beautiful sunset. Also here you can snorkel in the clear water and enjoy the relaxing nature within the bay. Staying in the natural surroundings of the bay? At Cap you will certainly find a beautiful holiday home in Cala Vadella, one of the most beautiful locations in Ibiza. Cala d'Hort is a nearby beach that in terms of charm certainly falls into the same category as Cala Vadella. In this region you will find many nice villas and holiday homes that promise you a top holiday in Ibiza!
