In the South of France, the Luberon mountain range is located in the departments of Vaucluse and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It is a breathtaking place in Provence where you will find many lovely villages that date back to the Middle Ages. The magnificent mountains are characterised by beautiful hills, cliffs, rock formations and cute mountain villages. 

Isle sur la Sorgue

Isle sur la Sorgue, also called the Venice of France, is an essential excursion when staying in a holiday home in the Luberon. This town is the perfect place for a romantic getaway and provides the necessary peace and quiet that you can really enjoy when you’re on holiday. The town is characterised by its many flea markets, Provencal markets, antique shops and art galleries. Do you like to explore the city by bike? Then you have plenty of cycling routes for this, maybe the "Balade sur les rives de la Sorgue?" a route of 27 km, ideal right? 😊 If you are looking for some more great cycling routes, check them out here! After a day of shopping, take a nice walk along the canals, which are beautifully illuminated in the evening. Ideal to end the evening and to relax afterwards in your holiday home with swimming pool.  

Fontaine de Vaucluse

The river Sorgue flows through the whole village, which you can visit by walking along the boulevard. When you walk along the boulevard, you will end up at the source of the Sorgue at some point. Would you like to take a walk in this fantastic town? Follow one of the following walking routes 'Chemin des Beaumes Rouges' (2h30min, 5km) or 'Le Mourre de la Belle Etoile' (3h30min, 13,3km). 

Gordes

The village situated on the Luberon cliff is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France and attracts many tourists. Enjoy the fantastic views of the Luberon while hiking. At the top of the village, there is a castle that was built in the 11th century and then completely renovated in the 16th century. Enjoy panoramic views from the castle overlooking a beautiful part of the Luberon! 

Lourmarin

A village situated between 2 valleys, the Durance and the Calavon. In this village, you will find the beautiful castle of Lourmarin, the oldest Renaissance castle of Provence. Definitely worth a visit if you are a big fan of culture and history! 

Cadenet

Cadenet is easily accessible from your holiday home with private pool and is definitely worth a visit. Visit the cave houses, the open air theatre and walk the nice streets that Cadenet has to offer. Admire the church Saint-Etienne and the treasury. A nice trip that you can make when you’re here is to go truffle hunting at the Pastras. 

Bonnieux

Bonnieux is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Luberon. The culture and history that you find here is a great treat for real history buffs and worth leaving your holiday home for! The village is situated on a higher part of the mountain and provides a panoramic view of the Luberon. Fill your day in Bonnieux with a visit to the many wineries, le jardin de la Louve or the old church.

Roussillon

One of the most famous villages of the Luberon is undoubtedly Roussillon. The village is known for the red-orange colour of its houses and is built on top of an ochre cliff. Beautiful combinations of the same shades of red, orange and brown that are used in nature and in the houses are perfect for very nice pictures. Regional Natural Park of the Luberon

Have you had enough of sunbathing in your holiday home with private pool? Are you looking for something more active to do and is hiking something for you? Then you should definitely come and hike here. The forests, hills, vineyards, orchards and rock massifs will provide the necessary variety during your walk. Do you prefer something more challenging? Then you can go rock climbing, horse riding and paragliding! If you enjoy a nice bike ride, this park also has plenty of bike routes you can follow! Enjoy 😊
