The typical, fresh Rosat is on the daily menu and with a bit of luck you can get a free tasting offered by a local vintner in the main wine villages, Pont de Molins Espolla or Mollet de Peralada. But the vineyards are not alone in determining the landscape here. Apples, pears and peaches are cultivated, add the poppies and sunflowers and you get a landscape with very colourful and blooming hues.

Sports enthusiasts always find pleasure here. Costa Brava is a Mecca for sailors and golfers, but cycling and horseback riding are also possible here. Whatever you choose, you are guaranteed to be treated to beautiful panoramic views over the Pyrenees.

There are dozens of fishing villages that have become a tourist attraction, but have still preserved their charm and character. L’Escala, Pals, Estartit, Cadaqués and Calella de Palafrugell are more than worth seeing. You can also find some bustling cities here. Girona with the cozy rambla, museum hopping in Figueres, the historic Barcelona and the ceramics centre of La Bisbal are definitely worth a visit.
