Provence: must-see attractions

Provence is one of the most well-known regions of France thanks to its beautiful rustic landscapes, fragrant lavender fields and summer sunshine. This also makes Provence the ideal holiday destination. In a region with so much beauty to visit, it can sometimes be difficult to choose where to go. That is why we share our secret for the perfect holiday in the region: find a lovely holiday home in Provence in a picturesque village that is just a stone's throw away from all kinds of interesting sights. This way you can enjoy the tranquillity and rural atmosphere, and combine nature and culture.

Avignon

One of the most famous cities in Provence is Avignon. The beautiful city is full of attractions, cosy streets and is known as a real city of culture. Besides the famous Pont d'Avignon, the Palais des Papes is definitely worth a visit. And if you are on holiday in Avignon in July, you can experience the famous theatre festival and see how the city is bustling with festivities. However, you do not need to book a flat in the centre to visit the city on the banks of the Sorgues and the Rhone. In the nearby villages of Chateaurenard, Maillane or Barbentane you will find complete relaxation in a holiday home with pool in the Provence of Cap.

Gordes

Less than an hour's drive from Avignon is Gordes. It is a charming village in the Vaucluse that is built entirely on a rock of the Luberon Mountains and looks simply picturesque. Gordes has even been named the most beautiful village in France, so it is an essential attraction on holiday in Provence. When you see the beautiful views from the village square and the Castle of Gordes, you will surely agree. Here too, you can find a lovely holiday home in Provence with Cap. Lou Dickine is a holiday home with pool in Provence overlooking the Luberon that can accommodate the whole family.

Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

At a stone's throw from Avignon and Chateaurenard, lies Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. It is one of the most historically interesting places in France. You can admire important Roman remains in Plateau des Antiques, an old part of the former Glanum. You can spend at least one day here, seeing the old temples, the thermal baths, the forum and more. Besides, many interesting artists such as Vincent Van Gogh lived in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and got inspired by the region. You can even visit the Van Gogh museum and recognise different views from his works. Next to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence are the rustic villages Eygalières and Eyragues. Book your French holiday home in Provence here and enjoy all the best of the region. Stroll around a market in the morning and enjoy your baguette, with Avignon, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Miramas and other cultural excursions close by.

Sainte-Maxime and Bormes-les-Mimosas

Would you like to stay more towards the coast? Then rent a holiday home at the French Riviera. Besides the famous Saint-Tropez, Sainte-Maxime and Bormes-les-Mimosas are absolute musts. Sainte-Maxime has all the glamour of Saint-Tropez, with beautiful beaches, boulevards and a casino to prove it, but is just that little bit more accessible and charming. In Bormes-les-Mimosas, you can take your holiday photos to the next level. Sip a rosé on one of the many terraces by the side of a balcony and let yourself be surrounded by the palm trees, cypresses and colourful flowers as you look out over the brilliant blue sea water. To enjoy the southern French coastal region, you can also choose a quiet base that is centrally located. In Plan de la Tour, Grimaud or Garde Freinet you will find fantastic holiday homes with swimming pool.
