The 7 most beautiful beaches of Ibiza

The 7 most beautiful beaches of Ibiza

Ibiza is Spain's most famous island and is located in the Balearic archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. Ibiza is the ideal destination for relaxation and recuperation. Besides the most renowned nightclubs in the world, you will also find a real hippy culture where spirituality and yoga are central. Moreover, the island is also known for its beautiful sunsets and beaches. The southern and western sides of Ibiza have the most touristy beaches, while you will find more peace and quiet in the north and east.

A tip: the beaches are scattered along the coast so make sure you have your own transport to discover the most beautiful places, you cannot get everywhere with public transport. You can rent cars or scooters in many places!

There is nothing better than a holiday at the beach, especially from the luxury of your own holiday home on Ibiza. Below, we list the beaches on Ibiza that you should definitely enjoy.

1. Cala Bassa

Cala Bassa beach is a 15-minute drive west of Sant Antoni. It is a beautiful sandy beach with clear blue waters and thanks to its many facilities, it is much more accessible to the general public than Aigua Blanques. You can hire sun beds and parasols, there are showers and changing rooms and there are also footboards, which makes the beach accessible to the disabled. There are also several bars and restaurants. Not far away is the village of Cala Tarida, which also has a beautiful sandy beach. Cap has beautiful holiday homes in Cala Tarida on offer that are definitely worth a look.

2. Cala d'en Serra

Cala d'en Serra is a beautiful rocky cove where you can find a wonderful beach. It is located in the north of the island, not far from the resort of Portinatx. The beautiful location was once an inspiration for one of the most renowned Catalan architects to build a large luxury hotel there. However, construction was interrupted towards the end of the 1970s and when the architect Josep Lluís Sert finally died, it always remained an unfinished ghost hotel. Although some Ibiza residents would prefer to get rid of the structure, many consider it a unique sight with a good story that contributes to the cultural heritage of the island.

3. Cala Benirrás

Cala Benirrás is famous for its beautiful sunsets, which are greeted with a drum roll to make it a special moment. Snorkelling, paddle board excursions are available and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Near the beach you will also find a hippy market and nice restaurants and bars. For the authentic Ibiza atmosphere you have to be in Cala Benirrás. Tip: It is recommended to come here by bus as there are limited parking spaces and it is a fairly popular beach.

4. Cala Xarraca

Also not far from Portinatx, lies the small beach of Cala Xarraca. It may only be about 100 metres long, but it is a real pearl for divers and snorkellers thanks to its clear blue waters. It is easily accessible by car, yet it seems to be very isolated. Therefore, the natural views are really beautiful and you can certainly take some great holiday photos. An added bonus is that to the left of the beach, there is a pool of mud which is said to have a healing effect on the skin.

5. Cala Conta

Cala Conta or Cala Comte is just a 15-minute drive from San Antoni and is an iconic beach on Ibiza. Its crystal blue waters, pleasant alternation of sandy and rocky beaches and views of several small islands close to the shore rightly make Cala Conta a popular resort. There are shallow parts of the sea where children can play safely and there are also bars and restaurants nearby. People also come here especially to admire the beautiful sunsets.

6. Punta de sa Pedrera

Punta de sa Pedrera is a piece of untamed Ibiza. It is a rocky lookout point over the sea where you can take a brisk walk. The adjacent beach is also very mysterious, called Atlantis. You have to do some searching and scrambling for it, but then you end up in a magical place with half-sunken rocks and clear blue water that forms little pools in the grooves. Unfortunately, there is no real magic here, but there used to be a stone quarry on the coast.

7. Cala Vadella

Cala Vadella is a beautiful and rustic seaside village that sums up the Mediterranean style. Boats bobbing in the water, delicious restaurants and a lovely sandy beach where you can watch the beautiful sunset. Here you can also snorkel in the clear water and enjoy the peaceful nature within the bay. Want to stay in the natural environment of the bay? At Cap you will certainly find a beautiful holiday home in Cala Vadella, one of the most beautiful locations of Ibiza. Cala d'Hort is a nearby beach that in terms of charm certainly falls into the same category as Cala Vadella. In this region you can find a lot of nice villas and holiday homes that promise you a top holiday on Ibiza!
