1. Vaucluse: Mont Ventoux

It is sometimes called the Venice of Provence because it is located right on the River Sorgue and the water is an important part of its charm. Here, you will come across a number of cycling routes that lead you through Provence. This cycle route from l'Isle de la Sorgue can be done in one day and takes you past all kinds of beautiful views and sights. Bridges, the canals and medieval-looking streets are some of them. If you go to l'Isle de la Sorgue on a Thursday or Friday, you can buy your picnic at the market and enjoy local delicacies.

3. Lubéron

Southeast of Avignon, the Lubéron mountain range has several picturesque villages scattered around. This nice cycle route through the Luberon takes you around the mountain range from village to village on quiet and mostly car-free roads. The route is about 235 km long, which gives you the space to plan a whole holiday in Provence around it. You cycle along all kinds of sights like castles and monuments of which the views are fantastic. The natural landscape of Luberon will make you relax during your sporty cycling holiday.

4. Gorges du Verdon

The Gorges du Verdon is the largest gorge in Europe, which ensures spectacular views. The impressive rock walls make the river a popular attraction for kayakers and hikers. So it is not without reason that the regional park du Verdon is one of the highlights of southern France or the Provence. With this cycling route, you can plan an unforgettable cycling holiday in Provence! The entire cycle route de Verdon is 256 km long and offers days of challenges and beautiful views. The stops can be planned in the cosy villages, where you can find refreshment and rest. It is recommended to start this cycle route in spring or autumn for an ideal climate.
