What is there to do in Costa Blanca ?

The Spanish coasts or costas are divided into different parts, giving the characteristic regions their own name. In the south-east of Spain in the region of Valencia lies the Costa Blanca. The 'White Coast' has 244 km of beaches, specifically demarcated by the villages of Denia and Pilar de la Horadada. The Costa Blanca is one of the most visited holiday destinations in Spain because of its sunny climate, the many beaches, the infrastructure and the cities. We, too, have lost our hearts to the sunny region. Take a look at our offer and find a holiday home in the Costa Blanca for your next holiday bajo el sol.

Are you still doubting whether a holiday on the Costa Blanca in Spain is something for you? A beautiful holiday home in Costa Blanca is the perfect base to discover the popular coastal region in Spain. The best sights and activities are summarised here.

1. Alicante

Alicante is the second largest city on the Costa Blanca after Valencia. Tourists often use Alicante as a gateway to the Costa Blanca thanks to its easily accessible airport, but the city itself also has a lot to offer for a city trip. The old town consists of small streets full of nice restaurants and boutiques and there is almost nowhere better to stroll than along the palm trees on the main boulevard Explanada de España. Enjoy delicious paella valenciana or other fresh dishes straight from the sea. Other places of interest in Alicante include museums and the Castle of Santa Barbara on the Monte Benacantil hill that overlooks the city. Moreover, Alicante is centrally located in the Costa Blanca and it is very easy to reach beautiful beaches, islands and other cities by public transport. So with a holiday home in Costa Blanca you are always between nature, beach and city.

2. Salt Lakes

The salt lakes or las salinas of Torrevieja are located in a natural park where salt is also extracted. The salt lake of Torrevieja is connected to the neighbouring salt lake of La Mata, where salt is no longer extracted. The lagoon is a beautiful and colourful pearl that is definitely worth a day trip, if only to take the perfect holiday photo! The lake contains natural algae that make the water all pink. Moreover, it is a protected habitat for flamingos, so if your holiday on the Costa Blanca is planned in the right period, you can observe the beautiful birds here. There is an observation tower from where you can look over the pink lake and the strange but natural salt towers. A view like no other!

3. Sandy beaches

One of the biggest assets of the Costa Blanca is of course its beautiful sandy beaches. There are about 74 beaches, many of them near a cosy village or a city such as Alicante. Denia is a bustling coastal town with beautiful beaches that in summer are full of sunbathers and an important harbour where fishermen still bring in their catch every day and from where ferries leave for the Balearic Islands. Moraira is known for its pleasant stay without the feeling of mass tourism. Altea is one of the most authentic coastal towns on the Costa Blanca, where the old centre has a rustic atmosphere and the church with its blue dome provides beautiful views. Altea has an atmosphere of luxury, and like all the more upmarket resorts it consists of the old town, the more touristy coast and the villa areas higher up in the hills. You can rent a beautiful villa on the Costa Blanca in Altea from Cap.

4. Benidorm

Everyone knows the name Benidorm. The coastal town on the Costa Blanca has built up a solid reputation as the former fishing village has grown into a city with the second largest number of hotel beds in Europe after Paris. The high-rise flats and hotels accommodate every summer bon vivants from all over the world who are looking for three things: sun, beach and entertainment. Benidorm is a coastal city that offers something for everyone. Wide beaches, a lively nightlife, amusement parks nearby and sports activities from the beach to the interior.

5. Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa is a small authentic town at the Costa Blanca that is now mainly known for its chocolate industry. There are two chocolate factories that are open for viewing, mmm! In addition, the former village has a beautiful authentic historical centre with a number of old watch towers that had to protect the coast. Villajoyosa also has a very spacious beach where you probably do not have to drum for a spot in the sand. From the beach you also have a very unique view: the façades of the houses on the coast are painted in different and very bright colours. The houses used to be fishermen's cottages, and the fishermen used the bright colours so that they could see the home front well and take the quickest route home. Villajoyosa is therefore definitely a unique coastal town on the Costa Blanca that is worth a day trip.

All over the Costa Blanca you will find nice places to visit for a day, to enjoy the beach or to do all kinds of fun sport activities. With a villa on the Costa Blanca you can really enjoy a holiday in Spain. Are you looking for a holiday home with pool on the Costa Blanca where the whole family feels at home?
